I am sometimes overwhelmed with the appreciation of the students and the teachers. I was told by one teacher that since texting is the big thing many students are losing the ability to spell and now are talking the same way they text.

This is our fourth year of participation and we’ve expanded from 2 schools to 3 schools this year. Great project. The kids love their dictionaries/thesauruses.

The Vandalia Rotary Club has been participating with The Dictionary Project for the last three years. During that time we have distributed dictionaries to every third grade student and teacher in the Fayette County, Illinois.
