David Crandall, Gainesville-Haymarket Rotary Club, Haymarket, VA
The G-H Rotary Club has been presenting dictionaries to schools in our community for the last 4 years. The Rotarians enjoy visiting the schools and chatting with the students about dictionaries and the value they will have for the students. The students love receiving them. It’s been a very worthwhile project for us and we get so much positive feedback from students and teachers.

This is our third year participating. If I didn’t think this was a fantastic project I would not have participated.
Carlos Orozco, Saugus Everett Elks Lodge # 642, Saugus, MA
I started this project 6 years ago in the Everett Lodge of Elks # 642 and now we service the cities of Saugus and Chelsea. My first year we gave away just under 400 books and we have grown to 1200 books a year.

I have been participating in this project for 5 years and it is very rewarding. I am still excited and energized to see the positive reaction from the students, and the gratitude they express when we give them their dictionary. I am always impressed with how quickly the books are delivered to my office. It is a terrific program.

We have been doing this for the last five years or so. We appreciate it and enjoy doing this project for our community.
Edward Boise, Rotary Club of Wrightstown Area, Juliustown, NJ
We have been participating for four years and the students anticipate our visit. Word of the program spread from year to year within the schools. Very well received and highly regarded.

This is our fifth year with the Dictionary Project. The teachers and schools look forward to the program each year, and each year the process gets easier to do. Keep it going.

This is our 3rd year in giving the 3rd grade students these dictionaries. They are so excited when we hand them out. We give them during Education week in November. Previously we were giving the teachers, apples, cookies, etc. We never received a thank-you from over 60 teachers in our school district. We heard about the dictionary program and tried it one year and... Read More
