The third grade students were quite excited and appreciative of their dictionaries and the reference information included in them.

This is a great program for our school children. It is very popular for both the students and teachers. This is a great community project and very beneficial to our students.

This will be the 4th or 5th year we have done this and I think we get as much out of this as the children do. We go and talk a little about who we are, American Legion members both veterans, wives, children, son and grandsons of veterans, and why we are donating the dictionaries.

The teachers and students are delighted with their very own dictionary. They always get a kick out of “The Longest Word” and want to know if we can pronounce it. We thoroughly enjoy this project and look forward to it each year!

This is our 3rd year and we simply love this program. It’s something all of our members can get involved in and it helps every 3rd grader in town!

The Lapeer Rotary Club and the Kiwanis Club of Lapeer have joined efforts the past few years and handed out dictionaries to our elementary schools in Lapeer. This year we have added Lakeville and North Branch elementary as well. Having two service groups working together for a common goal has been a rewarding experience.
