Dictionaries donated to Kenya
We received this email from Tahera Mamdani, who implemented a small project in her native Kenya on a recent trip …
"In July, one box of the dictionaries was delivered to Nyali Integrated Academy. It is a new school; the dictionaries were very timely. The teacher decided to keep the dictionaries in the classroom so that more students can utilize them.
The teacher was very happy and grateful because the dictionaries are American based (not England English based). All subject matter is taught in English so the additional assistance obtained from the dictionaries is most welcomed. http://nyaliintegratedacademy.org/index.php
Another box was give to an elementary school located in a rural town of Kinango, Kenya. They decided to keep the dictionaries in the classroom as well. They don’t have a website, sorry!"
We are amazed to see dictionaries going as far on a personal trip, and Tahera deserves credit for going this far. It is people like her who help us expand into new territories and bring words to more children abroad. Thank you, Tahera!
