Killduff Grange gives dictionaries to area third graders
On December 2nd, Zetta Rae Stork, Lelah Main and Alice Schwartz from the Killduff Richland Grange presented ditionaries to the students at Lynnville-Sully and Sully Christian schools. This is the fourth year the Grange has done this as a project called Words for Thirds, giving each third grader from both schools a dictionary.
After their names were written in their dictionaries, the boys and girls were asked to look up the word ‘grange’ to find its meaning. They found in this instance that it is an organization founded in 1867 by farmers for the mutual benefit of the community.
A dictionary is a necessary learning tool for people of all ages, and the students were directed to use it and not just put it away on the shelf.
The third grade teachers at Lynnville-Sully are Denise Brillhart and Sabrina Edsen, and Barb Hoogeveen at Sully Christian.
