Thumbs up to the Florence Elks Lodge # 820 for helping to provide dictionaries for local third graders. The local project is part of a national effort called the Dictionary Project. Among the third graders receiving dictionaries were students at St. Joseph Catholic School, Riverhill, Shoals Christian and all Lauderdale county and city schools. In 2009, a statewide effort provided 44,000 dictionaries. This is a great way to help students.
