Acushnet Grange thanks people for donations
The Acushnet Grange #285 would like to thank people for the donations received at our Boot Drive on Saturday, June 23, in the center of Acushnet. Their generosity will help us with our continued Dictionary Project, or "Words for Thirds."
Children in the third grade at Acushnet Elementary and Francis Xavier schools each receive their own dictionaries, which they will keep and use throughout their school years. These dictionaries, an important source of information, will help them not only with spelling and word definition, but have information about science, history and much more.
Also benefited by these donations are other community service projects—Boy Scout Troop #51, which the Grange sponsors, and the Foster Care Program, by donating needed items to help children in their transition from their home to a foster family.
The Acushnet Grange meets on the first Tuesday of each month at the Grange Hall, 1121 Main St. at 7:30 p.m. Anyone interested in this family organization may visit at any time or call 508-763-2795.
