Event a gift to the community from the Lions
On behalf of the Yelm Lions Club, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Yelm Community for its support of Prairie Days last weekend.
This is a big event for the Yelm Lions Club, where we raise most of the charitable funds that we use to support our community.
Last year, the economy and the needs of our community placed a huge demand on our charitable resources.
The need for corrective eye surgeries for community members, eye therapy for kids, eyeglasses, hearing aids, scholarships, the Christmas Store, Dictionary Project and our many other charitable efforts nearly depleted our charitable accounts.
While the final tally is not available yet, it appears that this last Prairie Days was a huge success, which will allow us to continue our community service efforts.
We hope that the community enjoyed Prairie Days.
The carnival, Lions Food Booth, vendors, the new Kids’ Zone, Mutt Show, music and our new fun program for children on Saturday were all gifts from the Lions to the Yelm Community.
Prairie Days is one of the highlights of our year.
Thanks, again, for all the great support.
