Superior Kiwanis funds 2011 dictionary project for third grade

Third graders at Superior Elementary Schools each have their own dictionary for the 9th year in a row thanks to the Superior Kiwanis Club. Since the fall of 2003 the Superior Kiwanis Club has annually funded “The Dictionary Project”. “The Dictionary Project” allows organizations or schools to purchase dictionaries at a reduced price for ALL third graders in their district. “The Dictionary Project” was formed to encourage children to use a dictionary so that they will be able to use the English language more effectively. Various service clubs across the nation are sponsoring the project in their local schools to help support language arts education. The dictionaries become the property of the student and are available to use as they continue on through school. Superior Schools would like to extend a big thank you to the Superior Kiwanis Club for their generous support of “The Dictionary Project”.
