1,500 learners benefit from the Dictionary Project
For the 8th year, the Center for Teaching and Learning, Heritage Fund, the Community Foundation of Bartholomew County, and Bartholomew Retired Teachers’ Association (BARTA) have joined forces on The Dictionary Project.
The goal of this national program is to assist all students in completing the school year as good writers, active readers, and creative thinkers. The dictionaries are a gift to each third-grade student to use at school and at home. Reading is the most important skill in learning and is the starting point for economic and social opportunities. Over 300 English/Spanish dictionaries were distributed to elementary, middle, and high school students. Nearly 200 dictionaries were given to adults working to improve their literacy skills.
Many thanks to our partners at the Heritage Fund and BARTA for another great year of The Dictionary Project.
