Everest 3rd graders receive dictionaries

 The Everest Area Optimists kicked off American Education Week by donating 495 dictionaries to area 3rd graders this week.

The project was developed in response to a March 4, 2002 article in the Wall Street Journal about "The Dictionary Lady," Mary French. Mary leads a national effort to provide dictionaries to 3rd-grade students across the United States.

Funding for the Everest Area project comes from the Everest Area Optimists, along with contributions from Associated Bank, River Valley Bank, and US Bank.
