A new book for everyone

The Jackson Rotary Club provided dictionaries to students at 29 elementary schools this winter. Eight schools within the Jackson Public School System had already received dictionaries from either the West or North Jackson Rotary Clubs. The Jackson Rotary Club ensured that every third grader in the Jackson Public School System received their very own dictionary.

Twenty-nine separate teams were sent out to make the deliveries and to conduct the exercise written to acquaint the students with their new Encyclopedic Dictionaries. Team members, teachers and students all greatly enjoyed the experience. A total of 1,824 dictionaries were delivered. The Jackson Rotary Club is going to spearhead a project with a goal of getting a dictionary in the hands of every third grader in Mississippi.
