Paw Paw Kiwanis team up with national Dictionary Project
The Paw Paw Kiwanis Club has teamed up with the national Dictionary Project to provide a dictionary to every third-grade student in Paw Paw schools, in keeping with the organization’s dedication to "changing the world one child at a time."
Dictionaries have been distributed to all third graders at the Paw Paw Later Elementary School, St. Mary School, and Trinity Lutheran School. Why dictionaries? "Dictionaries have multiple functions and purposes. Mainly they are an aid to learning the definitions of words, spelling, pronunciation, grammar and contextual use of words in a written and spoken language," said Paw Paw Later Elementary Principal Mary Puckett. "These dictionaries will help our third graders discover and grow. There is even a map section! The third graders, as well as parents (and grandparents) are excited and most grateful for the gift."
