Kailua Lodge distributes dictionaries to Windward 3rd graders!

A hearty MAHALO to Kailua Elk members Lani Medeiros and Sharon Chee for taking the time to visit four Windward elementary schools, giving away free personal dictionaries to appreciative third graders. For many of these kids, this is their first book. Lani and Sharon report that more than 140 dictionaries were given to kids at Waimanalo Elementary, Pope Elementary, Waiahole Elementary and Hauula Elementary Schools. Says Lani, "It was a lot of fun, and the kids were very grateful and appreciative!" Our Lodge has ordered more dictionaries from the Dictionary Project and, once they arrive, Lani and Sharon will be distributing them to additional schools.
