Manchester Rotary Presents Dictionaries to Students

The third graders of Maple Street School in Manchester, Vt., were excited to receive personal copies of a ‘Webster’s Dictionary’ from the Manchester Rotary. Members of the Rotary [Club], Norm Champine and Ron Wilcox, made their annual visit to Ms. Chaffee’s classroom to distribute the dictionaries as part of The Dictionary Project. The Rotary [Club] will distribute over 100 dictionaries to local students this year. Champine and Wilcox led the class in looking up words from the class’s fairy tales vocabulary list. The students were honored to receive their dictionaries and have been using them each day to look up the interesting words that they encounter in their independent reading books.
