Fanwood-Scotch Plains Rotary Gives Dictionaries to Students
Dictionaries were distributed by members of the Fanwood-Scotch Plains Rotary Club to all third graders in the Scotch Plains-Fanwood School District during National Education Week.
Teams of Rotary Club members visited each school in the district last month to give away the free dictionaries. The local club has been participating in the annual Dictionary Day for the past ten years.
The dictionaries are purchased by the F-SP Rotary Club from The Dictionary Project, a nonprofit charitable organization founded in 1995 by Mary French in Charleston, South Carolina. To date, more than 19 million dictionaries have been donated to students in the United States and internationally.
