Honoring the Life of Anse Windham, Kingsville Noon Lions Club
Anse “Windy” Windham was the Past President and Past District Governor of Lions Club District 283. As a Lion, he received the Melvin Jones Award for dedicated humanitarian service, the Ed Flood Award on behalf of the Texas Lions Foundation, and most recently, the Jack Wiech Fellow award for dedicated service to the children of the Texas Lions Camp. Mr. Windham introduced The Dictionary Project to the Kingsville Noon Lions Club in 2009 to provide dictionaries to each third grade student in Kleberg and Kenedy Counties in Texas. He once expressed that members particularly enjoyed when students became overly excited about the contents of their dictionary. Since beginning the project, Mr. Windham and fellow Kingsville Lions have donated over 2,500 dictionaries to local children. We admire and will miss Mr. Windham’s dedication to community service.
