Rotary Club of Washington Township, NJ
Recognizing the importance of literacy, members of the Washington Township Rotary Club provide a personal dictionary to each third grader in Washington Township Public School District in Gloucester County, New Jersey.
Members believe that when students are equipped with a dictionary as a life-long reference tool, they have the ability to improve their writing and reading comprehension skills. These improved skills promote overall academic success and ultimately, a more well-rounded student and citizen.
Washington Township Rotarian Vince Esposito noted that the project is continued each year through the generous support of fellow Rotarians and local sponsors, like The Washington Township Education Foundation, Rainbow Gymnastics, Postnet, and RC Computers, LLC.
The club has received positive feedback and letters of appreciation from teachers, administrators and children alike. The Dictionary Project would like to thank the Rotary Club, its dedicated members and all those in the community who help provide the invaluable gift of a dictionary to Washington Township students.
