Rotary Club of Palestine, Texas
Thanks to the Rotary Club of Palestine, Texas, more than 600 dictionaries will be given to second grade students in the Palestine area. During the presentation of dictionaries, club members talk about word meanings and how to find them. They also read Rotary’s Four-Way Test, and help students look up words they may not be familiar with: truth, fair, goodwill and beneficial. Rotarian Hugh Summers started the project in 2007 when he was serving as president. Since that time, the club has provided more than 11,600 dictionaries to area students.
