Marshall Rotary Club Brings the Joy of Dictionaries to Local Students
The Marshall Rotary Club in Illinois continues its proud tradition of supporting The Dictionary Project by delivering student dictionaries to local third graders. Their heartfelt letter reminds us of the excitement and pride children feel when they receive their very own dictionary, labeled with their name. Here’s their touching message:

Charleston, SC 29402Dear Mary,
The Marshall Rotary Club had another pleasant distribution of your dictionaries to third grade students. We place a label in each book with, “the student’s name and presented by Rotary Club.” It is most rewarding to see the excitement of the boys and girls when they receive a book bearing their name and with its extensive new contents.
One teacher had each student comment on the dictionary and create a little artwork (two samples enclosed). I take these to the club meeting for all to see. Enclosed is a picture of Megan Schofield, president, and I at the distribution in the school library, along with a picture of the students at the event.
Thank you for your fine books and great service.
Sincerely,
Damian T. Macey
