Renault CEO Publishes Sentimental Dictionary of the Automobile to Celebrate Car Culture and Empower Women.

Luca de Meo, CEO of Renault Group, has authored The Sentimental Dictionary of the Automobile, a passion project celebrating the history, culture, and personal stories behind the automotive world. Following its successful release in France in October 2024, the book is set to launch in Spain and Latin America on April 30 under Grupo Planeta’s Deusto publishing label, available in both print and eBook formats.

Structured alphabetically like a traditional dictionary, the book shares de Meo’s lifelong love for cars, dating back to a memorable ride in a Lancia Fulvia at age seven. It weaves together industry history, personal anecdotes, and reflections on innovation, with contributions from industry icons including Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali and Google CEO Sundar Pichai.

In a meaningful alignment with The Dictionary Project’s own mission to empower lives through language and literacy, de Meo is donating all royalties from the book to organizations helping people access opportunity, such as the Candelita Association, which supports women at risk of exclusion in gaining driving licenses and improving their economic mobility.

This inspiring project is a reminder that dictionaries are more than reference books—they’re cultural artifacts and tools for change.
