Tucumcari Elks Lodge #1172 Bring Dictionaries and Drug Awareness to Local Students
The Tucumcari Elks Lodge #1172 distributed a total of 148 dictionaries to five local area Elementary Schools this past October. Along with their new dictionaries, students were also given Drug Awareness book markers and red ribbons. The Tucumcari Elks were originally introduced to The Dictionary Project in 2005, and with the help of Youth Activities & Public Relations Chairman David Gonzalez, members have been able to reach over 1,500 students in New Mexico. The Dictionary Project appreciates the Elks for their countless volunteer hours and over 300 miles driven to ensure that every third grade student at Tucumcari, San Jon Elementary, Logan, House and Santa Rosa Elementary Schools receive a personal dictionary. Thank you!
