Pocatello Dictionary Project

 The four Pocatello, Idaho Rotary clubs: Pocatello Rotary Club, Gate City Rotary Club, Centennial Rotary Club and Portneuf Rotary Club combined efforts to do the Dictionary Project. The project entailed personally handing and giving a dictionary to every public and private third-grade student in the Pocatello/Chubbuck area. All new third-grade teachers received a dictionary as well. In total over 70 Rotarians distributed and personally gave 1,125 students their own dictionary. The project required a great deal of coordination with schools, principals, teachers and Rotarians. We as Rotarians were pleased to participate in this fine project supporting literacy in our community.
