Charleston, SC 29402Dear Ms. French,
We hope you are well. On behalf of the Allen W. Roberts and Salt Brook school communities, we want to thank you for the generous donation of the dictionaries for our third-grade students. This project continues to be well-received by the teachers and students in our classes. Our teachers note the benefit of the hard copy dictionaries and compare it to reading a book in hand. They note that books and dictionaries are both available online, but sitting with them and holding them in their hands is still necessary in a third-grade classroom. They also believe that it is important for the students to see the words, the parts of speech, and practice alphabetical order while holding and touching the dictionary. Our students learn in different ways, so the hard copy dictionaries certainly assist in meeting their varied needs.
Thank you again for this donation and all of your support!
Sincerely,
Jay Richter
