Community dictionary project in its 8th year

Grants Fire & Rescue in Grants, NM, has been organizing a community dictionary project for third graders in Cibola, McKinley and Catron counties for the past 8 years. This past school year, they were able to provide dictionaries to students at 17 elementary schools with the help of many community groups. Donors to this year’s project include the Cibola Beacon, Grants State Bank, Diamond G Home Center, First Community Bank, Continental Divide Electric Cooperative, Inc., CH2M HILL OMI, and Wells Fargo Bank. In total they have distributed over 5,000 dictionaries.
