Elks give dictionaries to area third graders

Third-grade students from Casas Christian, Copper Creek, Mesa Verde, Immaculate Heart and Wilson elementary schools received free dictionaries from Catalina Mountain Elks Lodge No. 2815.
Lodge members distributed 395 dictionary-gazetteers, which include reference material required for a third-grade curriculum, to the students.
The dictionaries were presented to the students as part of the Dictionary Project, a nationwide program.
The Catalina Mountain Elks have donated more than 2,200 dictionaries to third graders in the eight years they have participated in the project.
