Republican Women repeat popular dictionary project and essay contest
The Caldwell County Republican Women presented their Second Annual Essay Contest Awards in a ceremony held at Plum Creek Elementary School on November 3. The subject chosen for the essays was "A Time That I Have Done Something With a Friend."
Third place winner Jacqueline of Plum Creek Elementary received a $20 gift card and an award certificate. Second place winner Braden of Navarro Elementary received a $30 gift card and an award certificate. First place winner Gabrielle, also of Navarro Elementary, received a $50 gift card and award certificate. All Caldwell County third graders are eligible for the award, subject to their school district’s decision to participate, and are chosen by a select panel of fourth-grade teachers. The presentations were made by Past Vice President Betty Hodges, President Carol Martin, Literacy Chair Peggy Duda, and Past President June Day.
