Bonnie Manning, Gig Harbor Lions Club, Fox Island, WA
On behalf of the Gig Harbor Lions Club thank you for processing our order so quickly. It is a joy to see how much the kids appreciate the dictionary but also know they have something that is just theirs to own. Thanks to the Dictionary Project it makes it possible for us to play a small roll. Our Lions club has been in existence... Read More

We have been doing this project for five years. Two of the schools have been with us for all five years, while the other ones jumped on afterwards.. We feel it is important to do every thing we can to ensure our children have the tools necessary to succeed in life..

This is our 3rd year to distribute the dictionaries. Once a Rotarian helps in the distribution, they won’t miss again. It is just too much joy to see and experience the children when they receive their very own dictionary.. We spend time when handing out the dictionaries to have the children look at the longest word inside the back cover and that is always... Read More

The Dictionary Project was the first project our club did after we were chartered in 2006.. We love seeing the faces of the third graders when they receive their dictionaries. We’ve received wonderful thank you notes from the students and even photos of what the dictionaries look like after a year of use. The students love getting them and we enjoy giving them!.
James Johnson, Rotary Club of Clovis, Clovis, CA
This is our 5th year of participation. We distribute to 13 Title 1 Elementary Schools in Clovis. A Title 1 school is a school that has over 30% socio-economically disadvantaged students who receive some form of federal assistance.. We are enthusiastically welcomed to these schools by the teachers and students each year..

We have been participation in the program for a number of years. As we raise more money, we add schools.. We feel that the Dictionary Project is a great way to introduce young children to words.. None.

We’ve been participating for 4 or 5 years now. We don’t have any real special presentations other than we hand out the books to each student and take some pictures.. We think the Dictionary Project is AWESOME! Many of these students wouldn’t get dictionaries because they are costly and many organizations wouldn’t be able to provide dictionaries because of the cost. This is just... Read More

I think we’ve given these dictionaries for two years–this will be the third. We learned about it from another Lions Club and have been recommending it for sevral years.. We really like this project. It is exactly the kind of thing that Lions do and it easy to accomplish..

For the eighth year, it is our privilege to be able to present a brand new dictionary to each sixth grade student. Seeing the smile of appreciation and excitement on their faces is heart-warming. This dictionary is very important to the students as the writing curriculum becomes more demanding. With budget cuts in the schools, our district is no longer able to provide classroom... Read More
