The West Hartford Rotary Club loves doing the dictionary project. It is amazing to see how excited 3rd graders get over receiving their own dictionary. This on one of our favorite projects in Rotary! Anyone who has helped with the distribution will always be first to volunteer when Dictionary Day comes around again. They love to see the excitement in the children’s faces as they receive their very own dictionary!

This will be the second year our Lions Club has provided dictionaries. We absolutely love it, the kids love it, and the teachers think it is fantastic!!!

This is our second year. The kids were overwhelmed that the could keep the books and almost everyone had their book open, looking up words, before they left the room. It is a great – and greatly needed – program.

Our club is eager to participate in this project. It is a favorite of many members.

This will be our 6th year of giving a dictionary to every 3rd-grade student in the school district. I think it is wonderful. I have recommended this to other Rotary Clubs, and they have also started participating.

We have been doing this project for about 9 years. Our members enjoy interacting with the children and the school and teachers appreciate the gift. The smiles of the children say it all.

The Barre (VT) Rotary Club has been distributing dictionaries for at least 8 years, and atlases for 2 years. It’s a great program. The prices are low, so it allows our dollars to go further – we’re able to distribute many more books.

We’ve been providing dictionaries for all 4th graders in the county since 2005. We regularly try to expand to include a few disaster-stricken schools from around the country.
