Roderick Baker, Rotary Club of Winona, Winona, MN
The Rotary Club of Winona and the third grade students of Winona County love the Dictionary Project! The 2011-2012 school year will be our sixth year of distribution. We have donated over 2,400 dictionaries in the first five years of the project.

This is my first year and I’m excited to continue this project on an annual basis. I think this is a phenomenal project that will help the future of our youth. The earlier we can reach out to them the better!
Bonnie Littrell, Rotary Club of Clemson-Calhoun, Clemson, SC
I have been involved in this project for five years, and it is always a special treat to see the children’s delight upon receiving their book. Teachers are most appreciative as well. This is a great way to participate in Rotary’s literacy endeavors and help our local schools at the same time. We feel it is our way to give back to our community.

2011 will be our sixth Dictionary Project. The Dictionary Project gives us a great way to maintain close contact and continue a good rapport with our local schools. We love the Dictionary Project. Keep up the good work.
Diane Binkerd, Laketon Lions Club, North Manchester, IN
This is our 2nd year. We think it is an awesome project, and the children really liked the dictionaries last year.
Vas Appalaneni, Rotary Club of Centerville, Dayton, OH
We have been participating in this project for several years with great success. Every school teacher we talked to was very supportive of this project and appreciated Rotary’s generosity in providing these books to the school children. It is a GREAT project.
Tena Hedges, Catlin Grange # 199, Kelso, WA
Every year the 3rd graders look forward to seeing us come. They are really excited when they find out the books are theirs to keep.
Rebecca Mier, Rotary Club of Salinas Steinbeck, Salinas, CA
This is our fourth year giving to all third graders within an entire school district. We believe that the cost of the texts is very reasonable. The price allows some flexibility to other organizations that can donate within their budget. A great investment in youth.
Mary Johnston, Rotary Clubs of State College, State College, PA
This is the seventh year the three clubs have been handing out dictionaries to the third graders. This is one of the best youth literacy projects an organization can be involved in.
Steve Frankoski, Secretary, Guilderland Elks Lodge # 2480, Schenectady, NY
Have been doing since NY state’s inception of project–it is heartwarming to see young faces when they are told that the books are theirs personally.
