We have been involved for a number of years. We include the school districts, charter schools, private schools and home-schooled students. We look forward to carrying on this project for the benefit of all the youngsters in our communities.

Our mission is to help 3rd graders with spelling, how to look up words and definitions of words.

We are a Rotary Club who builds this project into their budget. The community loves this program!

To assist and encourage Adult ESL students and Grade 3 Elementary School children as they progress from Learning to Read to Reading to Learn. The project is excellent. The children love it; especially the sign language page.

This is the 9th year we have given out the gift of words (dictionaries). This is the greatest program. We have been participating for well over 5 years–Great program. The members of the Early Act Club at Veterans Memorial Elementary School (the youngest Rotarians) will put labels in the books and help to distribute them to all of the 3rd graders in the District. Last year the Early Act Club from Herbertsville was a big help.

We have been doing this for a long time and enjoy meeting the children and seeing how excited they are to receive their own dictionaries. This is a great way to work with the children in furthering their education.

We have been supporting the Dictionary Project for ten years. We receive great feedback from teachers, students and parents.

I think this is a wonderful program, as many of our students are from very low income families, and I’m sure they would not be able to purchase a dictionary for their use.

This has been a very exciting project for our club. Handing out the books to individuals is reward enough. This is our 4th year, and we plan to continue. We had help from other Kiwanis Club members and from Key Clubs at Bellevue East High and Papillion/LaVista High in selling fireworks to raise money for this project.
