We have been doing the “Words for Thirds” project for 6 years and have delivered over 200 copies to the local elementary school. The children are all delighted to receive them and use them for many years to come. We love this project and are pleased that the Grange has taken this on every year.

The schools in our area love our Kiwanis Club of Plattsburgh to visit every year and personally present the bright yellow dictionaries to their 3rd graders! It’s one of our favorite projects!

The Rotary Club of Bailey’s Crossroads has been donating the dictionaries to the 3rd grade students in schools in our area for a number of years. The teachers tell us that the students really appreciate and use the dictionaries.

The Huron Rotary club has been giving dictionaries to the 4th graders in all the Huron Schools for the past 15 years. Each year we make a very large event out of this by going to each class room to present each of the children with their first dictionary. Merritt Island Rotary supports literacy projects in our community. One of these projects is our annual thesaurus project, where we deliver a thesaurus to every 9th grader in the 3 public/private schools on Merritt Island.
