Vicki Knotts, GFWC duMidi Women’s Club, Huntsville, AL
This will be third year that DuMidi will present these dictionaries to the schools listed. We make a presentation to the students and they are so excited when they receive their books!! Du Midi provided dictionaries to all third graders with the help of the Dictionary Project last year and it was a success!! Thank you so much.
Irene Beville, Rotary Club of Nordonia Hills, Northfield, OH
Our Rotary Club has participated in this project for more than 10 years. We think it is a wonderful program. Our students and teachers really appreciate it.
Penny Cole, Molson Grange # 1069, Oroville, WA
This has been a very nice added thing for our school which does not have much money. We do this with the money we make roller skating at our Grange each summer.
Mary McIlvaine, Rotary Club of Cheyenne, Cheyenne, WY
My husband and I have been working on the dictionary project for several years. We try each year to get books to all the third graders in Wyoming. This is accomplished mostly because of Rotarians. Nothing is more important to a kid’s success than reading. Keep up the good work!!!!
David Bagnall, Diamond Electric Manufacturing, Dundee, MI
This is our 7th year in the program. It’s the best project that we’ve participated in!
Barbara Miller, Sunray PTO, Sunray, TX
Sunray PTO has done this project for 5 years, and this year we are adding the thesaurus project to the fourth grade level.
Chloe Richardson, Rotary Club of Mid-Marion County, Yellville, AR
Mid-Marion County Rotary Club was participating in this project before I joined Rotary and that was seven years ago. We love being a part of the Dictionary Project. Each year we receive letters from the students telling us how much they appreciate them.
Donna Springer, Rotary Club of Mt. Laurel, Mount Laurel, NJ
We have done this for several years with your organization, love the response from the kids and the books are great; budgets are tighter than ever–it’s a great help.
Kenneth Marlin, Rotary Club of Anamosa, Anamosa, IA
Anamosa Rotary has been doing this for a few years. This project is wonderful. Students are so excited about getting their own dictionary and learning how to use it. The funding for this project has been taken over by Rotary member, Ken Marlin, in memory of his wife, Joan, who was also a Rotary member – former teacher, proof-reader, and editor.
Scott Merrill, Rotary Club of Bullhead City, Bullhead City, AZ
We have been handing out dictionaries in the Bullhead City, Mohave Valley area since 2003. Our club is proud to have been one of the first organizations to participate in the program in the state of Arizona. The looks on the kids’ faces and the thank you notes that we get are a fantastic bonus.
