Bob Ballentine, Rotary Club of Chapin Sunrise, Chapin, SC
We appreciate the reaction that we get from both the students and teachers. They are always very thankful. This is my 10th year of being chair of the Dictionary Project for our Club – what more do I need to say?
Kevin McDermit, Arcola Lions Club, Fort Wayne, IN
This will be our 4th year giving dictionaries to the 3rd graders in our community. We appreciate how affordably we can give the dictionaries. Keep up the great work.
Mary Brodowski, Rotary Club of North Anne Arundel County, Pasadena, MD
I’ve been a part of this club for 3 years and being part of the dictionary project is very rewarding, and the children love it! This project is a great way to get the Rotary word out!
Marilyn McCauley, Rotary Club of Fairborn, Fairborn, OH
This is a great project and the schools truly appreciate our help.
Melvin Coiner, Baldwin Park, CA
I just want to help the youngsters to learn as much as possible at a young age. If all the kids have the same chance of learning, the whole class will advance as well. The youngsters are learning to read in third grade and after the third grade, they are reading to learn. If this tool helps them on their journey, then so be... Read More

The Loves Park Rotary Club has been distributing the dictionaries to Harlem students since 2007. The Dictionary Project is great!
Nick Storrs , Rotary Club of Montachusett Area, Leominster, MA
Leominster is a community of modest means – when the children receive a dictionary, they can hardly believe that it is theirs to keep. I know that we have participating in the project for at least 4 years. This is a favorite program of this club–it gives us great joy to assist the schools, where budgets are continually being cut, and to give the... Read More

The Lima and Honeoye Falls-Mendon Rotary Clubs have been donating the dictionaries to the third graders at the Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School and the Lima Christian School for the past 10 years. Both of our clubs find this one of the most rewarding projects we do each year. We know this small gift is eagerly awaited by the 3rd graders as they have heard... Read More
Zean Carney, Kiwanis Club of Wahoo Area, Wahoo, NE
We distribute to three school districts for a total of seven classrooms. Wahoo Elementary, Mead Elementary are public and St. Wenceslaus is a private school. We personally deliver books to each classroom and use the tool box approach telling the students that the dictionary is a tool for learning just as a hammer or saw is a tool for a carpenter.
Betty Gill, Rotary Club of Franklinton, Franklinton, LA
This is the 3rd year the Rotary Club of Franklinton has participated with this project. Very honored to be able to deliver the dictionaries to all 3rd grade students in our school district. Great project! Goes hand in hand with Rotary service projects to combat illiteracy!
