I think this is my third year, but my 10th year helping struggling readers in the third grade. It delights my heart to think about the homes into which our magnificent English language will go. Many ESLs…many simply without resources…some with only nascent desire!

We have been participating with the Dictionary Project for many years. I feel it is a good project because a lot of the kids do not have a dictionary of their own.

We’ve been doing the project for six or seven years. We’ve expanded into three districts and LOVE the program… it’s helped us form a connection with the schools and children! Enjoy working with you and appreciate your interest in us!

This will be our third year. The students have always been elated to get a dictionary of their own. Fabulous!

The Kiwanis Club of Kernersville has been doing this project for 5 or 6 years. It makes an immediate impact on the students and we feel that this is a very worthwhile use of the funds we raise.

One of our Clubs delivered dictionaries a couple of days ago and they received an overwhelming response. The students asked them to autograph the books for them!

The Sumner Rotary Club sponsors the Dictionary Project as one of its important community service projects in support of literacy and education by providing dictionaries to all third graders in the Sumner and Dieringer School Districts.

This is the most awesome program. The kids’ faces light up when they are given this dictionary. We have been participating in conjunction with the Glendale Kiwanis for the past 6 years and now we are doing it on our own to the Osborn School District and we are looking for more in our area.

This is the 6th year of participation. This means that including this year we will have distributed over 4000 dictionaries to third graders in our community. We think it is a very worthwhile project. When students see us out in the community doing other projects — they recognize the “ELKS” sign and will come over to thank us for the dictionaries.
