I have been participating in this project for 5 years and it is very rewarding. I am still excited and energized to see the positive reaction from the students, and the gratitude they express when we give them their dictionary. I am always impressed with how quickly the books are delivered to my office. It is a terrific program.

We have been participating for four years and the students anticipate our visit. Word of the program spread from year to year within the schools. Very well received and highly regarded.

This is our fifth year with the Dictionary Project. The teachers and schools look forward to the program each year, and each year the process gets easier to do. Keep it going.

This is our 3rd year in giving the 3rd grade students these dictionaries. They are so excited when we hand them out. We give them during Education week in November. Previously we were giving the teachers, apples, cookies, etc. We never received a thank-you from over 60 teachers in our school district. We heard about the dictionary program and tried it one year and... Read More

Selah Heights Grange provides dictionaries for third grade students in Selah as participants in a statewide Grange program. It has been well received by the school teachers and administrators. The students usually write thank you notes that tell how they will use the dictionaries. The Dictionary Project has given Selah Heights Grange a recognition by the schools and community for a community service project.

I believe that this is the ninth year of participation. We started the project the year that I was club president. It means a lot to me because I had an aunt who had polio and taught school from her wheelchair. Her graduation present to nieces, nephews, and students was always a Webster Collegiate Dictionary. This project allows me to continue a family tradition... Read More
