We have been participating for the past 3 years, this will be our 4th year. We think it is a fantastic project as it allows everyone to have the same book and gives everyone the opportunity to have the same learning tools.

The Williamson Rotary Club has participated in the Dictionary project for several years. Each October we hand out the books the the 4th graders in the elementary school as well as send them to all 4th grade home-school children. The Williamson Rotary Club thinks this is a wonderful program to participate in.

This is the 5 year that the Orangevale Grange #354 has chosen to donate dictionaries to all 3rd graders in Orangevale, California. We receive nothing but great comments from the teachers and students about how useful the dictionaries are.

This project began in Georgetown County during the 1999-2000 school year by the county’s Rotary Clubs and has delivered more than 10,000 dictionaries to area students. This is a wonderful program, and I am excited that it is based in our Rotary District.

I am sometimes overwhelmed with the appreciation of the students and the teachers. I was told by one teacher that since texting is the big thing many students are losing the ability to spell and now are talking the same way they text.

This is our fourth year of participation and we’ve expanded from 2 schools to 3 schools this year. Great project. The kids love their dictionaries/thesauruses.

The Vandalia Rotary Club has been participating with The Dictionary Project for the last three years. During that time we have distributed dictionaries to every third grade student and teacher in the Fayette County, Illinois. We have donated dictionaries to all the children in the Eatonville School District for seven years now. Many of the children have siblings that have already gotten a dictionary in years past, so they are anxiously waiting to get their very own dictionary. This is the second year AT&T TelecomPioneers NW Metro Council of Marietta, GA, has participated in The Dictionary Project. We are looking forward to this year’s presentation because the kids LOVE to get their own dictionaries.
