My club has participated in The Dictionary Project every year since our charter. The Dictionary Project is a wonderful yet easy way every Rotary Club in the USA & Canada, and every English-speaking country in the world, can contribute to increasing literacy in the world.

We did this for the first time last year in 2008 to huge positive responses from the children, teachers and Rotary members. It is a fantastic project. For some of the children this is the first book of their very own in their lives.

This is our 2nd year doing this project. It is wonderful!!!

I have been giving your dictionaries to my students for the last several years as Christmas presents. For many of my students, this will be the only dictionary in the home and even perhaps the only academic book they own. I appreciate the opportunity to be able to do something like this that I can afford. Thanks so much!

This is our second order. One of the schools we donated dictionaries to two years ago contacted our club to see if we could donate them again this year. Thank you for keeping this program alive. The teachers, students and library staff really appreciate them.

This is the third year we have donated dictionaries to third grades in both towns. It’s one activity where all our members want to participate. The cards, letters, and posters from students thanking us are very gratifying. Several teachers incorporate the dictionaries into their lesson plans.
