RCSBS has been participating in the Dictionary Project for several years. Our club looks forward to this annual project as much as the schools look forward to Rotary’s visit.

The children are always very excited to receive their own dictionary, and look forward to us coming each fall.

It is a good community service project. Builds a good relationship with the school.

This is our 10 year and we plan to continue. This gives us the chance to serve every child in Des Moines County. This is an excellent program for everyone concerned. The schools love it, the children like the books and the Kiwanians think it is one of our best programs.

I believe this is our seventh year of participating in the Dictionary Project, and we love watching the faces of the students when they receive their books. For most, it is the first book they have ever owned and they are very proud to have one in their possession.

The JC Elks has been participating in the Dictionary Project since 2004. 3 Years ago we partnered with the JC Rotary Club as a community activity. We have developed a great relationship with the Rotary Club from working on this project.

The children who received dictionaries last year were thrilled to receive them. The teachers were enthusiastic and we received a great deal of support from the educators for this project.. We think this project is a very worthwhile one. The dictionaries support students and additionally, give students an opportunity to learn about volunteerism in their communities..

Excellent project, well-received by schools, parents and especially students.

We have been doing this approximately 7 years and enjoyed the response of students when they received the dictionaries. In the past years when delivering them had students come up and say, I still have mine from three or four years ago. This is heartening to know that they remember.
