The schools each year plan for the arrival of the dictionaries in their third grade curriculums, and uses them as class material throughout the third grade school year and during the following year in fourth grade. I receive telephone calls every fall from principals and teachers to make sure that they will ?get their dictionaries for the third graders?. I and several other Lions go into every third grade classroom at each school and present the dictionaries in a little presentation as to the dictionaries? contents and how they should be used. The teachers really like having someone get their third graders excited about using that dictionary and all the information it contains. I?ve had teachers come up to me in stores to give me a hug and thank me. Every year I get at least a hundred thank you notes from the students receiving dictionaries.
