This is the sixth year our club has donated dictionaries to grade school students in our community. The Dictionary Project is a great idea. Our club receives many thank you letters from the students, and the teachers and principals of the schools appreciate the dictionaries.

This the fifth year the Kiwanis Club of Haslett is providing dictionaries to third graders in the Haslett School District. Every year we receive many letters of appreciation from the students and teachers. These letters also let us know how the students use the dictionaries in their classes and lessons. I think the Dictionary Project is a great idea. We feel the third grade is a critical period in a child’s learning of language and their own dictionary certainly aids in this endeavor.
