This is our third year of participation and the program has been very rewarding. Both teachers and students have shown great appreciation.

We are a relatively new Rotary club – chartered in 2006 and have been providing the dictionaries every year since charter. We are happy to participate in the project and help with the level of literacy in our county. We love seeing the expressions on the children’s faces when we tell them the book is theirs to keep!

We believe in helping the children of the world especially in our local community and we have kept coming back every year. The kids really appreciate it and we see them at graduation and they mention how we gave them a dictionary in third grade.

The Elizabeth Ross Chapter NSDAR was blown away when our very own member, Nancy Harms, came and did her presentation about the Dictionary Project. We are now in the process of getting the word out so more NSDAR chapters in the...

Giving books to the school for 7 years. This is our 8th year and hope that these books have gone on and that at least some will be with their 10th grade student. It is a great project and is well received by the teachers and students alike.

For the past five years we have been enjoying the distribution of dictionaries, each year as our budget grows, expanding our number of schools. We find it fun, satisfying and genuinely appreciated by the students, staffs and parents in our community. We all look forward to the project each year.

The kids and teachers were excited to get the dictionaries and start learning to use them. The teachers asked to have them at the start of the year so they can use them all year long.

Dictionaries have been distributed to 3rd graders for a number of years, and that is a great project. We will be ordering dictionaries when school gets back and we can get accurate student counts. The thesauruses will be given to 7th graders at Haralson County Middle School at the request of the school principal. State testing results have continually come back with the comments...
