We have provided dictionaries to the third grades of the Troy & Canton PA school districts for about 7 years. We always order a few extra and leave them with the school librarians to provide to new students that enroll later in the year. It is the cheapest yet most appreciated program we do. Many of the students in our area don’t have a dictionary in the household. Some have never owned a book of their own. It is a great boost of self esteem and provides a mechanism for the teachers to have everyone in their class with the same reference material.
